What is Happiness? How to Get It?
“Victory is Happiness”, this is what the answer 70% of the people gave, when I put this question in my personality development classes before them. Then why do people always be sad, live in sorrow, even though most of them know the answer? Because most of us do not follow or at least try what we know is right.
When it comes to it’s definition, many prominent people have answered it earlier, but Wikipedia defines it best. “Happiness is a mental state of well-being characterized by positive emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy”.
What’s the million dollar question is how to get it? Well you may find it difficult to answer, but it is as simple as eating a peeled banana, yes – the answer is “Through Constant victory” in other words “achieving targets”
With this simple answer many doubts and again some questions arise. Constant victory over WHAT?
The answer is again simple. Just look back in your life. Have you ever felt happy for a long time I mean for a period of one month or at least for one week? And for why? I’m sure it would be related to some kind of victory or achievement. Constant victory over colleagues, friends, family members and relationships with them, challenges and problems etc., whatever you may come across in your day to day life, will ultimately lead you to happiness.
But, I know these are not the cases, you are looking for. When you searched for the term ‘happiness’ in the cyber space means you are looking for something more than these or probably you might have vexed with your problems and seeking solutions to get out of them. If that is the case, you are in the right place now.
You are looking for solution means you have already taken the first step to happiness. Remember facing problems and not running away from them is happiness. It only exists within our state of life right now, here in the present, as we face the challenges of our daily life. Remember some wise person (not me) has said that happiness is not the end but it is a journey to the end (goal).
If I am right and you are looking for true and lasting happiness, then here is the simple outstanding tip- achieving goals is happiness. Set yourself goals and work on reaching them, I’m sure you will find happiness.
One of the world’s greatest truths is that all of life’s happiness comes from achieving goals. When you check back your life, what will make you happy will be the greatest things you have done. Find out those things which brought you happiness in your life in the past. I’m sure you’ll find at least one single success story of yours, and try to make some more.
Top tip to keep you happy. Finally, remember one thing, if you are bored with your life, unhappy or magnet to sorrow means it is all due to lack of clear targets and goals but nothing else. Try to figure out what you want to achieve in your life, draw a road map, work on it, happiness will be yours. Best of Luck.
